Maastricht (NL), March 21, 2019 – Niccolò Galli, ESR3, presented his research at the Institute for Globalisation and International Regulation (‘IGIR’), an interdisciplinary research institute based at Maastricht University’s Faculty of Law.

Within his project on ‘Patent Aggregation and Competition Law’, Niccolò discussed the challenges of circumscribing and classifying patent aggregation practices. In addition, he highlighted preliminary empirical evidence of patent aggregation activities happening in Europe.

The presentation sparked a vivid debate, especially on the competition law issues posed by patent aggregation. The seminar provided useful inputs and contacts that enrich Niccolò’s doctoral enquiry.
